Resources for Independence

RFI provides help for people with disabilities. The service you get is totally up to your needs, and if they can’t help you they can point you in the right direction, or even walk you through the process. I’ve gotten help applying for programs and services that I had no idea that I was eligible for. I’ve also gotten help going through my mail and bills, which was what I needed at the time. It is really up to the individual and his/her needs. The staff is very friendly, nonjudgmental and knowledgeable. If you are disabled in the Cumberland area, I highly recommend that you contact RFI if you need extra help that you’re not getting from other agencies.

I recently contacted Resources for Independence to obtain assistance for a disabled family member. I was extremely impressed by the staff’s dedication in assisting me with getting the help that was needed at this time. I only know the name of two of the four employees who helped me. Lori McGruder, along with two others physically worked to obtain a piece of heavy equipment and then loaded it into my vehicle. Robin Kerr helped me with the paperwork and gave me other information that may help me. I’m so appreciative to Resources for Independence for taking care of everything in such a timely manner.
