Mrs. Acosta was my son, Christopher’s, speech therapist this year and she was fantastic at identifying his strengths and weakness in terms of communication. She is extremely dedicated and focused on her students’ success. She was very thorough in her explanation of Christopher’s speech generating device and its many benefits while pleasantly welcoming my questions and concerns. Mrs. Acosta took the time to detail how Christopher’s new device would be utilized on a daily basis in order to further his currently limited communication skills. She is excellent at what she does.

When Tanya started working with my daughter she could only say a few words. The first visit was difficult to watch because my daughter was resistant to Tanya’s technique of not moving something (her toy car) or not getting her favorite snack until she either signed or made an effort to ask. After the first session – my daughter was saying 1,2,3 go and stop consistently which she never said before. This resistance did not last long and the tantrums lessened with each session as her vocabulary grew. Then when she was three, Tanya started working with the IPAD as a motivator as well, which was amazing and proved to us that her cognitive ability was very good. Tanya’s energy and passion for what she does is amazing. She has made such a difference in my daughter’s life and I am forever grateful!
