Conversa Therapy

We met Mrs. Cynthia Carrera when we were beginning to have IEP discussions with our school. She was the new Speech Therapist in our school district; my son was six then (now eight). From the very first meeting, my husband and I felt re-assured and relieved. I knew that she would be an advocate for my son because of her positivity and keen understanding of neurodiverse children. I could tell right away that this work was something she cared deeply about. Mrs. Carrera has gotten to know my son over the years and has worked with him both in person and online, due to the pandemic. I was comforted by her commitment to these kids and by her experience in navigating schools and the medical community. Not only do I like her a lot but so does my son, most importantly. Mrs. Carrera is thoughtful and exudes a bright and caring energy with all that she does. I highly recommend Mrs. Carrera with all my heart.

We had the privilege of having 2 of our children work with Ms. Carrera. Our daughter was only in speech for a short time and quickly graduated. Our son however, had been in speech therapy since he was two years old. Once he was school-age, the quality of speech therapists and services decreased incredibly. Then we met Ms. Carrera, she took the time to truly understand his history and where he was at currently. He grew leaps and bounds during his time with her. Both of our kids really grew a bond with her and worked hard for her. I truly appreciate her level of expertise, attention to detail, and her easy connection with the kids.
