Heather has been a godsend for my son! She suspected my son’s reading problems stemmed from dyslexia and recommended testing, starting him on the intensive phonics program to meet grade-level benchmarks. My son enjoys his tutoring sessions with Heather and reads willingly now at home. Before tutoring, just reading a paragraph would end in frustration and anger.

For years, my son had struggled with his academics and social skills even with support from his school. In the short amount of time that he has been receiving tutoring lessons he has made leaps and bounds. He can actually read, he understands content within his lessons and school work, he knows when to ask for help and his confidence has flourished to the point where he voluntarily raises his hand in class. He is more outgoing, has finally found his voice, and frequently shares his thoughts and opinions. His tutoring has done more for him in a few months than his school has in 2 years.

At the beginning of my granddaughter’s education, she struggled with reading. She couldn’t decode words, and her self-esteem was crumbling. Her school tried to intervene, but the program was not a good fit. Heather had entered her life just at the right time. Heather tutoring her 2 to 3 times a week with the Barton Program. Currently, in 5th grade, my granddaughter is above grade level on her MCAs and receives A’s in her reading and writing classes. She has worked very hard to achieve this but could not have done this without Heather. Heather is a consistent, dedicated tutor. Her program was a perfect fit. We will be eternally grateful that Heather entered our granddaughter’s life when she did.
